Step-by-step instructions for setting up a new specification

Watch the video or follow these easy steps:

  • Log-in to ReqMan.
  • Expand your project in the tree menu on the left.
  • Expand the Requirement module in the tree menu.
  • Click specifications.
  • Click “New specification”.
  • Type in the name e.g. “My first specification”.
  • Click save.
  • Click “My first specification”.

You can also copy a standard template from the wiki. We have templates for business requirements , functional requirements , change requests and test cases.

Table of contents

  • Click “Table of contents”.
  • Type in the name for the first section e.g. “General requirements”.
  • Click “Create node” (section).
  • (Optional) Add more nodes.
  • Click back.

Custom fields

  • Click “Custom fields”.
  • Type the name e.g. “Priority”. 
  • Select type: “List of values”. 
  • Add the values e.g. High, Medium and Low. 
  • Click insert. 
  • Click back.

Tip: To edit an existing custom field click it's name in the table.

Note categories

  • Click “Note categories”. 
  • Type the name e.g. “Internal notes”. 
  • Click insert. 
  • Click back.

Attachment categories

  • Click “Attachment categories”. 
  • Type the name e.g. “Internal files”. 
  • Click insert. 
  • Click back.

You have now created a new specification. You can modify the configurations as you work with your project.
